Installation
Install Tachyon's Velocity part with packetevents on the proxy, and its Paper part on servers that run Scala minigames.
Which parts you need
| You want | Install |
|---|---|
| Instant hit feedback for players | The Velocity part, on your proxy |
| A death delay for high-ping players in Scala minigames | The Paper part, on each game server |
The two parts work independently. Products are delivered through your personal Aegis loader. If the loader is not on the server yet, follow Installation first.
Velocity part
Install packetevents
Put the Velocity build of packetevents in the proxy's plugins/ folder. Tachyon will not start without it.
Add Tachyon to the loader
Add Tachyon under products: in the loader's config.yml on the proxy:
products:
Tachyon:
enabled: true
release: latest
channel: stable
required: trueRestart the proxy
On startup Tachyon logs whether low ping mode is on by default, its threshold and its fallback window. Every player on 1.21 or newer is covered from then on.
The Velocity part has no config file. Its settings are environment variables; see Configuration.
Paper part
The Paper part needs Kernel and Stash on the same server. Scala's minigames already need both, so they are normally in place.
Add Tachyon to the loader
On each game server, add Tachyon under products: next to your other Scala products:
products:
Tachyon:
enabled: true
release: latest
channel: stable
required: trueRestart the server
Tachyon loads after Kernel and Stash and creates tachyon.yml in plugins/Tachyon/. Scala minigames on that server pick it up and start using the death delay.
Check it works
- Join through the proxy on a 1.21 or newer client and run
/tachyon. - The first line shows whether low ping mode is on and the measured backend delay.
- Hit another player a few times and run
/tachyonagain. Theissuedandconfirmedcounts should rise. If the backend delay is under the threshold, predictingshowsfalseand Tachyon stays out of the way.
