Kits
Create Duels kits, set their items, combat system and game type, and turn on rule flags such as rounds, building and void deaths.
How kits work
A kit is the loadout and rule set for a match. Every kit has an id, a display name, an icon, its items, a combat system, a game type and a list of flags.
Kits are stored in MongoDB and shared by every Duels server. A change on one server reaches the others straight away.
You can build kits with commands or with the menu from /duels editor. Both need duels.admin. Kit commands work on the lobby and on game servers.
Create a kit
Create it
Run /kit create <id>. The id is 1 to 32 characters: lowercase letters, digits, _ and -.
A new kit is enabled straight away. Run /kit toggle <kit> to hide it from players while you set it up, and again when it is ready.
Set its items
Put the items in your own inventory, armour slots, offhand and ender chest, then run /kit inventory setcontents <kit>. All four are saved.
/kit inventory getcontents <kit> gives you the saved items back. /kit enderchest <kit> edits only the ender chest.
Name it and give it an icon
/kit displayname <kit> <name>sets the name players see. Colour codes work./kit seticon <kit>uses the item in your hand, with its potion type and enchantments./kit seticon-typed <kit> <material> [potion] [enchant:level .sets the icon without holding it.. . ] /kit description add <kit> <line>adds a description line./kit description clear <kit>removes them all./kit weight <kit> <weight>sets the order in menus. Higher weights are listed first.
Pick the combat system
/kit system <kit> <system> takes MODERN or LEGACY.
MODERNis normal 1.21 combat. Modern kits are hidden from players on clients older than 1.21.LEGACYremoves the attack cooldown for the match.
New kits are MODERN.
Pick the game type
/kit lifecycle <kit> <lifecycle> sets how a match is won. Some flags only work with some game types. Changing the game type removes flags that no longer fit and tells you which ones.
| Game type | Value |
|---|---|
| Soul Bound | SoulBound (default) |
| Round Bound | RoundBound |
| Objective Bound | ObjectiveBound |
| Objective + Soul Bound | ObjectivePlusSoulBound |
Add flags
Add the rules you want with /kit features add <kit> <flag>. See the table below.
Flags
Manage flags with these commands:
/kit features add <kit> <flag>and/kit features remove <kit> <flag>/kit features list <kit>/kit features metadata add <kit> <flag> <key> <value>changes a setting of a flag./kit features metadata remove <kit> <flag> <key>puts that setting back to its default./kit features metadata list <kit> <flag>
/kit info <kit> shows everything about a kit, including its flags and their settings.
Adding a flag fails if it clashes with a flag the kit already has, or if it needs another flag first.

Tiers and trims
Staff can give a player a tier per kit with /tier set <player> <kit> <tier>, or pick one from a menu with /tier grant <player>. A tier is LT, MT or HT followed by 1 to 5, for example HT3. HT1 is the highest and LT5 the lowest.
The player's tier for a kit unlocks armour trims in that kit's editor:
| Unlock | Needs |
|---|---|
| Iron | LT4 |
| Copper | LT3 |
| Quartz | HT4 |
| Lapis | LT2 |
| Emerald | HT3 |
| Gold | LT1 |
| Diamond | HT1 |
| Amethyst | A top 50 place on the overall wins leaderboard |
| Coast, dune, host, raiser, rib, sentry, shaper, snout, wayfinder and wild patterns | Any unlocked trim material |
| Vex, ward, eye, tide, spire, flow and bolt patterns | HT2 |
| Silence pattern | MT1 |
/tier list <player> shows a player's tiers and /tier remove <player> <kit> clears one.
