Station game selector

Build the Station game selector in game: entries, icons, click actions, live player counts and how players open it.

How players open it

Players open the game selector with the Game Selector item, a compass in the first hotbar slot by default.

Players on clients that support dialogs see the selector as a dialog with one button per entry. The entry's lore shows as the button's tooltip. Other players see a chest menu with the entry icons, refreshed every half second.

Building the selector

Run /station editor (needs station.admin). The editor shows every slot of the selector, 27 slots in 3 rows. Empty slots show as grey glass panes.

Add an entry

Click an empty slot. Station creates an entry named "New Entry" with a paper icon and opens it.

Set the icon, name and lore

  • Icon: click it, then pick an item from your inventory.
  • Name: click it and type the name in chat. Type cancel to keep the old one.
  • Lore: click it to open the lore editor and edit the lines under the name.

Names and lore accept & colour codes.

Choose what a click does

Click Action to cycle through the actions, then click Action Data and type the data in chat.

Choose whether the menu closes

Close On Click decides whether the selector closes when a player clicks the entry. It's on by default.

To delete an entry, open it and click Delete Entry, then confirm. Every change is saved straight away and reaches every hub.

Queue for groupPuts the player, or their whole party, in a queue for the group.A server group, optionally with a player cap, like bedwars:100.

In the data for Run as player, Run as console and Send message, {player} becomes the player's name and {playerId} their UUID.

See Queues and parties for how queues pick a server and what the cap does.

Live player counts

Entry lore can show live counts. The selector fills these in:

PlaceholderShows
<group_NAME>Players online on all servers in the group NAME, like <group_bedwars>.
<queued_all>Players waiting in game matchmaking queues across the network.
<playing_all>Players in games started from matchmaking queues across the network.
<queued_TYPE>Players waiting in matchmaking queues of one type, like <queued_casual> or <queued_ranked>.
<playing_TYPE>Players in games of one queue type, like <playing_casual>.

The queue counts come from Scaffold's matchmaking, which game modes like Bedwars and Duels use. They aren't the Station queues from the Queue for group action. The same placeholders work in the join message.

Changing the editor menus

The titles and items of the editor menus are in plugins/Station/menus.yml. See Configuration.
