Freeze
How Sentry's /freeze locks a player in place, what frozen players can still do, and what happens when the timer runs out or they log out.
Freezing a player
/freeze <player> (also /ss) freezes a player, and running it again unfreezes them. It needs sentry. and works from the console too.
- The player must be on the same server as you.
- Players with
sentry.staffcan't be frozen. - Staff with
sentry.staffon every server running Sentry see who froze or unfroze whom.
What a frozen player can do
- They can't walk or jump. They can still look around and fall.
- Teleports are blocked, except teleports made by plugins.
- Commands are blocked, except the ones in
allowedFrozenCommandsinsentry.yml. By default these are the private message, reply,/helpop,/requestand/reportcommands.
Every 5 seconds the player sees a reminder not to log out, with your Discord link and the seconds left. The link comes from your network metadata in Bridge (/networkmetadata). Without one, the message says "our Discord".
When the time runs out
After 5 minutes (freezeTime in sentry.yml), staff are told the player has been frozen that long. The player's reminder changes to say their time is up.
If they log out
A frozen player who logs out is unfrozen, and staff get an alert with a Ban button. Clicking it makes that staff member run frozenLogoutCommand from sentry.yml:
/ban {player} 30d Logged out whilst frozenThe command runs as the staff member who clicked, with their permissions. Keep the leading slash.
Freeze does not carry over to another server or a new login. A player who rejoins is not frozen.
