Notes and staff chat

Add, list and remove private staff notes on player profiles, and use Sentry's staff and admin chat channels across your Paper servers.

Player notes

Notes are private staff remarks attached to a player's profile. They are shared by every server on the network. All note commands need sentry.command.notes.

CommandWhat it does
/notes add <player> <note>Attaches a note. Notes are cut to 200 characters. Players only, not the console.
/notes list <player> [page]Lists a player's notes, newest first, with the ID, author and date. Also /notes view.
/notes remove <id>Deletes a note by the short ID shown in the list, with or without the #. Also /notes delete.

/note works as an alias for /notes. The player must have joined the network before.

Staff and admin chat

Sentry adds two chat channels. Messages reach everyone with the channel's permission on every Paper server running Sentry, with the sender's server shown in front.

ChannelCommandPermissionQuick prefix
Staff/staffchat or /scbridge.chat.staffStart a chat message with #
Admin/adminchatbridge.chat.adminStart a chat message with @
  • /staffchat <message> sends one message. /staffchat on its own switches your chat to the staff channel, and running it again switches back.
  • /adminchat works the same way for the admin channel.
  • The prefix sends a single message to that channel without switching, for example #anyone free to check a report?.

You can change both formats in messages.yml (chat.staffFormat and chat.adminFormat).

Turning staff messages off

/togglestaffmessages (also /tsm, /staffmessages) turns staff messages off or on for you. It needs sentry.staff and is saved to your profile.

While it is off you don't receive staff messages, including staff and admin chat and freeze alerts. Report and help request alerts have their own toggle, /togglereportmessages.
